Robinho Arrives at Santos

...via helicopter of course.

He hung out with Pele then...

...did the normal ball juggling and smoke and mirrors and what not.

You laugh, but in the back of your mind you know how much that's gotta hurt.

Robinho Prays for Manchester Exit

Apparently he wants out... badly. His dad might hook him up with a transfer to Barcelona. (And let me just reiterate the word MIGHT. My guess, is that this isn't actually going to happen.)

Some longer shorts would have sufficed. Thank you very much.

Robinho Beached in Manchester

The Brazilian is apparently building a beach football court in his garden at his estate in Manchester. Apparently he and Elano are missing the Brazilian beaches, so Robinho had some sand brought in to create a homey touch. He does realize that it rains A LOT up there right? Good luck with that.

Robinho Rape Case Update

Three other Premier League footballers have been called in to speak to police in Leeds in regards to the rape allegations on Robinho. Whether they were brought in as witnesses or possible uspects has not been confirmed.

Elano apparently has his own gripes with his fellow Brazilian teammate.

Djibril Cisse Looks Ridiculous… Per Usual

While attending the Pussycat Dolls concert in Manchester, Cisse actually left his home wearing this. Does he have no friends? Where was Jude? Ugh.

It’s been reported that Manchester City stars, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Robinho were also at the concert.

Robinho Arrested on Rape Charges

An 18-year-old university student has claimed that the Manchester City striker sexually assaulted her in The Space nightclub where he was hanging out with friends in the VIP section.

Robinho was questioned by West Yorkshire police and was adamant that this was a false accusation. He complied to all their requests, including the donation of a DNA sample. Seems like he's being legit about things. I suppose I'll give him the benefit of the doubt... for now.

Robinho trained at Tenerife yesterday and looks to be included in the lineup for the game tonight against Newcastle.

The Robinho Debacle

So he returned from Brazil yesterday after dealing with the much important, yet undefined, “personal business” that he dubbed so important that it required him to leave training without telling a single soul. But Robinho did not return to a happy Mark Hughes.

He insists on fining the striker for abruptly leaving training and flying to Brazil without telling anyone. The Manchester City boss said the docking of 2 weeks pay (around £300,000) was going to be followed by normal disciplinary procedure. Whether the pansy ass gaffer is going to actually fine the player has yet to be confirmed.

Distrubingly Intirguing: Robinho's "Swimwear"

And I thought Elen Rives' swimwear was disgraceful.

Yes Robinho looks to be swimming in his "whitie tighties," but somehow I'm oddly intrigued, possibly even fascinated. This is bad news. I think I need to go back to bed.

Robinho Who?

I received my weekly addition of popbitch this morning and was pleased to read a tid-bit about Robinho on a recent outing into Manchester:

Robinho might be getting unsettled at Man City but it's not turning him into your typical arsehole premiership footballer.

Robinho went out to Space nightclub in Leeds this week. The bouncers didn't recognise the 160-grand-a-week star and turned him away for wearing a tracksuit. Rather than throw his weight around with a "don't you know who I am?" Robinho went back to his hotel and got changed. He then went back to Space with his agent and a couple of other players. The manager cordoned off an area of the club for them. The group then ordered up a load of champagne, happily dishing it out to everyone around them in the club. Robinho left a 400 quid tip for his waiter, and promised to come back as he said he found it difficult to go out in Manchester. Staff said he was "very down to earth. Friendly but tiny."

What a cute little tale of woe. So glad it had a happy ending.

Man City Crossbar Challenge

The Manchester City lads did a Christmas Crossbar Challenge. Although this is a video of their fun from their own telly channel, the challenge was also shown on Soccer AM in an abridged version.

Observations... Joe Hart is really attractive. Shaun Wright-Phillips is shrinking. Robinho's absence only convinces me further that he's embarrassed by his company.

C-Ron Has Hissy Fit in Brazil

robinho and cron

Cristiano Ronaldo was so frustrated by the Portugal battering last night in Brazil that he had a bit of a temper tantrum on the pitch. Stomping around and kicking grass like a toddler in need of a juice box and nap. Then he got so aggressive he almost broke the leg of Thiago Silva in a nasty tackle. Definitely not the type of behavior you want to see in the World Footballer of the Year. (Or the second and third either.)

Robinho’s former manager had this to say about the stars move to Manchester City:

“You have to respect his dream of being a major player in a mediocre club in England.”

Footballers Are Idiots: Robinho… FAIL!

Robinho FAIL
I’m going to rant here for a bit and I apologize ahead of time if I get foul mouthed and slightly pretentious.

What the f**k is Robinho thinking? I want to know his decision making process in choosing Manchester City over Chelsea. By chosing the larger paycheck over the more prestigious and successful club, he made it blatantly obvious that he would rather have the cash to spend than play in the Champions League, which is a REALLY unintelligent decision. Who would chose to play with Richard Dunne, Stephen Ireland, and Tal Ben Haim over Frank Lampard, John Terry, Didier Drogba, and the rest of the world renowned lineup at Chelsea? An idiot, that’s who.

Manchester City is also on my shit list. They are a conniving, underrated club. The new owners are thinking big, I see that, but to pounce on a player that Chelsea have been wooing for over a year is just wrong. It’s lacking tact. It looks like there’s a new rich club in the Premier League, and they’re acting like a bunch of over privileged assholes.

I feel so much better now that that’s all off my chest.

Friday Movie Talk: Goal II

GOAL! II

FINALLY! The whispers can cease. GOAL 2: Living the Dream is finally coming to the United States. After waiting ever so patiently, or rather not so patiently, the date has been set for August 29th. (Although after numerous postponements I’m not real trusting.) It will be limited viewing, so you might have to venture to a big city to see it. Make a day of it. Perhaps enjoy a little shopping, if not only through window panes.

Reasons to see this Movie:

1. It’s a about football. Duh.
2. David Beckham, Raul, The Ramos, Robinho, Thierry Henry and Zizou all have cameos
3. Iker Casillas in a hot tub (around 5.35 in)

Need I say more?

Robinho + £40 million = Cristiano Ronaldo?

cash robinho

Rumors are floating around that Real Madrid is offering Manchester United £40 million plus Brazilian striker Robinho. Isn’t that a bit much? Robinho’s has had some wonderful performances in the club’s 2 consecutive La Liga titles and has been a key player in the team’s success. ManU should snatch up this opportunity. Either that, or raise the ante. Real seem to be willing to give up ANYTHING!
