Footballers Attend Chester Races

Michael Owen was there showing off some of his horses.


Fellow United teammates, Nani, John O'Shea and Jonny Evans, celebrated some winners.

While Sir Alex Ferguson kept Owen Hargreaves company.


Shay and Jane Given were also present. Jane was wearing one of Victoria Beckham's signature dresses.


Joe Cole had a winning horse. Not just one he bet on either. One he ACTUALLY owns. He celebrated with his wife, Carly, and new baby daughter, Ruby.

Manchester United Boys at Kempton Racess

Michael Owen, Paul Scholes, Michael Carrick, John O'Shea, and Jonny Evans were at the Kempton Races last week. MO was reading about himself in the paper, while the others milled around the infield. (Is MO not just, so freaking adorable. So precious!) They all dressed very dapper and I give them all a round of applause. (And maybe a nice, encouraging pat on the bottom.)

Shay Given joined MO. I seem to remember that they share ownership of some horses or something. Not sure exactly.


The Manchester United lads joined the fun as well.

Man City Fans Wind Up United Stars

This was on The Mirror and it was too classic not to talk about. Apparently Man City fans have been having a bit of fun with the stars of their rival club:



"Ryan Giggs was approached in a hotel with the words "any chance of a picture, Giggsy?" When the winger agreed he was handed a camera and asked to take a photo of the Blues supporter.

And John O'Shea - who has laughed off untrue rumours about his sexuality - was told he had a piece of gum on his trainers. When the defender lifted a foot up to look back, his tormentor shouted "ooh, hello sailor", leaving O'Shea's pal in hysterics."

You can't deny the hilarity of imagining John O'Shea doing such a thing. At least the Man City fans are having a bit of a laugh rather than beating the living piss out of each other, right?
