WTF Moment: USA Beat Spain 2-0

I'm sure there was much money lost on this Confederations Cup match. Who could have expected that the EURO winners would lose to the country with probably the least amount of footie interest. Kind of a slap in the face, ay? Ouch.

Jozy Altidore and Clint Dempsey were the scorers for the United States. And now I shall give you some pictures from the match (snarky comments included, of course):

The U.S. players were ecstatic after the win. There was much hugging and even some straddling...

Single in Sin City: Frank Lampard

While Elen has been working hard for the money, her ex, Frank has been blowing it on a whopping 3 holidays in one month. First he was in Dubai with his sister Claire, her kids, and Luna and Isla. Then for his single week in Las Vegas...

In his last week of holidaying, he took Luna and Isla to Marbella and Ibiza apparently.

Elen Rives for GMTV

I must admit this wasn't at all expected. In her first episode she demonstrated the new cheerleading workout that's overtaking the city. (Somehow, I doubt that.) But in her more recent episode (which by now is a few weeks old) she was given the task of creating summer outfits for under £100.




I take a few issues though with this appointment:

1. When was the last time this woman was ever put on a budget? (Especially one below £100.)

2. I'm not a fan of her voice. I don't know how Frank did it for as long as he did.

3. Who let this woman on television to dictate the fashion of the season? (Yes, she's had some improvement as of late, but still, seriously?)

4. Why didn't I get the call to do the summer trends under £100. I mean, all you'd have to do is open my closet. No shopping necessary. (I don't mean to brag, but, ok so I kind of do.)

Well I guess she's got to pay the bills somehow, right?

MY 1,000TH POST!

Wow. So I don't even know what to say really. I've been at this for almost 2 years now and I have to admit it's really changed my life. (Ok, so that might be a little too serious and sensitive and such. I'll get back to my snarky, sarcastic wit in just a few.) There's so many possibilities with this blog. I'm hoping to eventually use it to expand to an ACTUAL sports writing career. (One that will provide me with a paycheck. Dollah, dollah bills... see above.) There is so much support in the footballing community, especially amongst the ladies. We're a tight knit posse. (I wouldn't quite call us a FIRM though... yet.)

So anywho, I guess this is just a HUGE thank you to all my readers for their support, for reading my blog, and for being generally fabulous people. Keep up the comments. Feedback is always wonderful, both positive and negative.

The Owens in London

Yes, I realize I'm a good few weeks behind. Between a new work schedule and a one week holiday, it's been difficult to find a meensly 10 minutes to check news, let alone write about anything. So I have to start somewhere, all be it INCREDIBLY old news.

So Louise and Michael Owen were in London a few weeks ago. (Long before he knew who Manchester United even were. Just kidding.) They went to Nobu for dinner...
