England Players Embark on Golf Outing

The England players enjoyed a spot of golf on their day off on Sunday. Gareth Barry, James Milner, Stephen Warnock, and Michael Dawson all took part of the fun.

Robert Green tried to forget about his howler against the USMNT by wearing a ridiculous hat. One can only assume.

Peter Crouch was happy to be in the outdoors without a football at his feet. Although, he's had to endure many giraffe jokes since arriving in South Africa.

Wayne Rooney took a wee before teeing off. What's the saying? You can take the Scouser out of Liverpool but you can't take the Scouse out of the highly-paid footballer. I might be making that up. Still fitting though, I think.

USMNT Were Late For Match on Saturday

They had arrived a bit later than they had expected because of this:

This is what they call a traffic jam in South Africa.

These suits are lovely. Hope I see them more in South Africa.

WAGs Unite for Charity in South Africa

Elen Rives will be joined by (genuine) WAGs Chantelle Tagoe, the fiancee of Aston Villa striker Emille Heskey (pictured below, left), and Ellie Darby (not pictured), the partner of West Ham's Matthew Upson. Amii Grove (pictured, below right), who used to date Jermaine Pennant, and Imogen Thomas (pictured below), who dated Jermaine Defoe, will also be taking part in the charity work to be filmed and shown by BBC3.

The ladies will be delving into such heavy topics as the orphan crisis, HIV pandemic and social breakdown in the nation which is holding the World Cup this year. The airing of the documentary has not been pinned down yet.

2010 World Cup Mascot Unveiled

zakumi
Zakumi ("za" being an acronym for South Africa, and "kumi" meaning 10 in most languages of Africa) was unveiled on South African television yesterday. At least they put shorts on this one. But I take issue with his green hair. Every kid that goes to the World Cup is going to want to die their hair green. Mothers around the world will be totally and utterly humiliated for an entire summer. FIFA's excuse:

"Zakumi loves football. At one time he decided to dye his hair green as he felt it would be the perfect camouflage against the green of the football pitch; a bit like his rosette spots are when hunting in the wilderness!"

Cue visual of mascot leaping out and slide tackling Cristiano Ronaldo from the sidelines, sending CRon into a face first dive to the grass. I'm just now seeing the perks.

In conclusion, it's a definate upgrade from the pantless creature of 2006 and the scary A.D.D. twins of 2008. Zakumi is actually quite adorable in graphic form.
