Bayern Fans Get Free Beer

After their worst start to a season in 43 years, Bayern Munich, in coordination with a local brewery sponsor, provided 7,000 litres of beer for free to fans before the match against Mainz. Unfortunately they lost 1-2. But I'm sure the blow was lightened by that free pint before the match. (Not so much.)

Ballack Trains with Germany and Attends to the Press

Michael enjoyed training while at the same time, flashing some thigh. Thanks Bally!

Per Mertesacker was there too. Looking precious, may I add.

Cheers!: Morning Mimosa Pre-Training

Ok, so it might just be orange juice, but there's no fun in that now is there. I can just see Ballck heading back out to training with a belly full of champagne. So classy those Germans.

Podolski Leaving Bayern in January

podolski at bayern

Lukas Podolski has requested to depart with his current club, Bayern Munich, once the January transfer window arrives. The 23-year-old is looking like a hot commodity and is going to be on the wanted list of many Premier League clubs, Manchester City obviously being one of them. Real Madrid has also expressed interest in the German international. His deliciousness would be welcomed in England I think.

One of These Things is Not Like the Others...

Give yourself a minute to look hard. I've given you a LITTLE hint.
Piotr Trochowski v england
Oh yes. It's Piotr Trochowski down there on the end. He's about as tall as the children. He's a whopping 1.69 m (5'6.5") according to his Wikipedia page.

I shall call him Half-Pint.

Monday Mmmmm: Piotr Trochowski

This German international was born in Poland (come on now, look at the name, DUH!) and plays for Hamburger SV in the Bundesliga. Unfortunately he has a WAG, but how do you say “not cute” in German? (Nicht nett! Thank you Babelfish.) He is 24 and is looking like a lovely specimen with those absolutely adorable dimples. Alas, he is only 5’6.5” and if I can’t wear heels with my footballer, then there’s really no point. Damn.

Wedding Bells: Michael Ballack and Simone Lambe

michael and simone

Michael Ballack has finally made an honest woman out of his childhood sweetheart Simone Lambe. Unlike the ostentatious wedding of a particular footballing couple, the Ballack’s conducted the ceremony at a register’s office outside of Munich and was attended by only close friends and family, including the couple’s 3 young sons.

But the wedding ceremony was followed by a 400-guest list party at the Bavarian Yacht Club on Lake Starnberg. The groom is rumored to have also bought breakfast for his hungover guests at the Four Seasons in Starnburg.

I suggest a tissue and a well-shaken strong drink to all the Ballack lovers out there.

Note: Simone’s reception dress looks like it has the 80’s style Madonna breast cones. How do you say “tacky” in German?
